The Final Goodbye from Salzburg
It's been a long and exciting week of tournament poker. After five days of play, a local veteran emerged as champion of the PokerNews Cup Main Event. Unlike the finalists of some tournaments, who seem to come from nowhere, those who went deep in this event were making waves from early on.
Austrian Erich Kollman picked up the title and can add this win, his fourth major cash this year, to his tournament resume. It's been an exciting tournament, not only held in a great venue, but in a beautiful city.
Thanks for following the action on PokerNews, we hope you've enjoyed yourselves. We do our best to bring you the most accurate and entertaining live updates available. The WSOP Circuit Main Event - Caesars Palace is the next stop for the PokerNews Team being held on April 29th. We hope you'll join us.

Erich Kollmann Wins PokerNews Cup Austria!
Following the elimination of Niki Kovacs, both Andrew Nicholson and Erich Kollman were once again eager to pause the clock and enter into further discussions.
Kollman held approximately a 2:1 chip count, and after some negotations it became evident that an agreement had been reached in regards to the prize money, with Erich Kollmann being declared the winner without any further cards being dealt.
Well done to Andrew Nicholson on a superb tournament and congratulations to the PokerNews Cup Champion - Austria's own Erich Kollman! -

Niki Kovacs Eliminated in 3rd Place (€ 11,690)
Erich Kollman sat this hand out from the button and Niki Kovacs raised to 60,000 from the small blind. As is his method, Andrew Nicholson announced raise and then tossed in his call. After a bit of consideration, Nicholson pushed out 220,000 more chips. Kovacs verbally declared "all in" for 121,000 more and Nicholson insta-called. The players showed:

The turn brough the

Updated Chip Counts
With the players on a quick break, we're able to get exact chip counts. Erich Kollman has yet to give up his lead and is working with 706,000 chips. The other three players are all relatively close to one other at this point. UK native Andrew Nicholson is 2nd in chips with 490,000 while Hugo Felix and Niki Kovacs command stacks of 428,000 and 400,000 respectively. With the short stack still having 20 big blinds, we may see some big preflop laydowns as well as some decent post flop play.

Nicholson vs Kollman
Erich Kollmann raised to 48,000 from under-the-gun and the action folded around to Andrew Nicholson in the big blind. He quickly cut down his chips and announced a raise to 166,000.
In one of few 3-bet situations of this final table where the players are deep enough to put pressure on each other, Kollman thought for several minutes, cut down his chips and appeared to be set to make the call. However he thought twice about clashing with the other big stack at the table and decided to fold and wait for a better spot.
